Maximumrocknroll #240:
Four long sogs that sound very much like Shellac. The drums are to a tee, the guitar has the same tinny sound and style, but maybe the bass isn't as prominent. The vocals are a mix of talking, screaming and singin. the songs are very well put together and played, so if you haven't had your fill of Shellac, then this is well worth getting.

Reason to believe #9:
My God Steve Albini's formed another band and he's from Finland and he doesn't look like he used to and he's changed his name. Well maybe not, but when within 2 bars the guitarist played a riff from Kerosene, I knew they didn't give a shit about completely ripping Albini off for all he's worth. Loads of people do it. I wish I could do it better. These are more like Shellac than any other Shellac band I've ever heard and I love Shellac so I have no problem with it whatsoever. 10" are possibly my favourite format and this lifted my mood in a most admirable way, which is usually gets a bit more cathartic when I listen to Shellac. This record is fucking excellent, but sadly no songs about squirrels. I hope they come over on tour, I want to see if he wears a waist guitar strap and looks grumpy. Albini aside, it is ace. Buy it, buy it, buy it, you know you want to.... (it's probably miles cheaper than a Shellac record for starters).

Tässä oli levy mikä piti nopeasti napsaista himaan kun kuuli sen julkaisusta. Debyytti-julkaisuko? En oo ainakaan kuullu ennen. Mutta keikalla kuulin aikanaan ja aattelin että perkeleen hyvää emo-meteliä. Noh, nyt vähän kuulostaa eri kamalta. Sanoisin että jotain experimentalgaragenoisepunkrockia ja sinne päin. Jollain perverssillä tavalla tulee Nomeansno mieleen. progepunkkia vai? Hauska kommentti levyltä: "Ff it sounds like Killdozer, you should probably play it on 45 rounds per minute." Kitara soi mallikkaasti. Tosin toisen puolen ekan biisin riffistä tulee mieleen et se olis sopinu 70/80-luvun seikkailusarjaan. Charlien Enkelit tai Ritari ÄssäN noi melodiat siis on oikeesti miellyttäviä ja kun toi laulajakaan ei oo mikään ihan turha veikko niin tämä on yksi parhaista tänä vuonna julkastuista suomalaisista levyistä. Ja vaan 300kpl joten ..
Rumba #20/02:
Helsingin miesten garagepunkrujoilua ja omintakeisten musiikillisten ratkaisujen yhdistelmää huonoilla soundeilla. Jostain syystä ei minuun uppoa, liekö syy biiseissä vai omissa särökitaroiden pauhuun turtuneissa korvissani. Soitto on pätevää ja asenne tyylille sopivaa, mutta ehkä vielä hitunen aikaa ideoiden kehittelylle, jooko?

10" levyt ovat kivoja jo pelkältä olemukseltaankin. Vielä kivemmaksi ne käyvät, jos ne sisältävät hyvää musiikkia. Tämä levy sisältää. Hyvinkin suositeltava neljän piisin 10-tuumainen jos vain tuollainen vähän weirdompi ja koukkuisempi kitaramekkala vähänkin kiehtoo. Jotain paikoin hyvinkin Jesus Lizard -suuntaista (mutta hieman pelkistetympää) vääntöä tämä on, ei siis turhan paljon tässä maassa aiemmin tehtyä. Hyvin tyylitajuista ja sen kuuloista, että tämä trio voisi olla jo valmis melkein mihin tahansa. Varsinkin jos olisivat osanneet valita vähän paremman nimen itselleen; tämä nykyinen on käsittämättömän huono. Mutta levy on hieno! Pistää jäsenet nykimään ja pään keikkumaan. Ja sitä on painettu vain 300 kappaletta joten kannattaa olla ajoissa asialla jos tämän aikoo hankkia. Erinomainen julkaisu.

I am sure that there is a large amount of people in the world, for whom STEVE ALBINI IS NOT ENOUGH in their space! I am the one... This 4-songs EP would be the smartest gift for them!!! Fun - a young Finnish trio; the EP is released in 300 copies so to you won't get it anyway. It is a pity, the band is worthy the most steadfast attention: I didn't meet so consecutive and careful attitude to creativity of Albini yet! An attentive listener will be certainly amused by the citations from Big Black and Shellac in songs "Sportscoat" and "Panther" - I speak about citing! It sounds very harmoniously and as a whole. In general, sound, energy and melody is somewhere in between late Big Black and early Shellac (for the last Fun has simply crazy speed - he-he...) - do you need any more advertising still?
